- Boots (you always need good boots)

- Touque (very important did you know you lose most of your body heat through your head)

-  Scarf

-  Mitts (need good mitts for all those face plants and wipeouts on the hill)

-  Goggles (So you can see the guy in front of you on the hill before you run him over)

This partner group will use their proceeds from the lottery to cover the costs of providing general services to our community including:

-          Crisis Intervention

-          Victim Support

-          Information and referrals to victims of crime and tragedy

-          Public awareness sessions to inform the community members and agencies of the variety of services available.

What APBVSA program members offer to victims of crime and tragedy:

Alberta Police Based Victim Service Programs offer information, support and local referrals for victims of crime and tragedy in accordance with the provincial guidelines outlined in the Victims of Crime Act and the Victims of Crime Protocol.

All Alberta police-based victim service programs utilize the services of highly trained volunteers to provide a 24/7 response to victims of crime and tragedy. Volunteers may provide a continuum of services, from the time of first response by police, to the final disposition of the case by the courts.

Happy 50th Anniversary to the Canadian Paraplegic Association (Alberta)

Imagine waking up one day and the un-imaginable happens an accident leaves you or a loved one with a serious spinal cord injury and your life has now turned upside down.  You’re left trying to re-learn life adapting to your disability.  Now imagine the relief when you learn there is an organization out there that can help you with those difficult times.  

The Canadian Paraplegic Association (Alberta) mission is to assist persons with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities to achieve independence, self reliance and full community participation.

Some of the ways they help:

- Ensure Albertans are aware of and have access to CPA services and support

- Help Clients and families adjust more successfully to the personal effects of an injury or disability.

- Help clients achieve increased independence, self-reliance and community participation

- Reduce the barriers to independence and inclusion in Alberta Communities

This lottery Partner Group will use their proceeds from the lottery for 3 uses:

  1. To purchase an ergonomic work station that can be adapted to meet the needs of people with disabilities.
  2. To deliver Peer Events throughout the region.  The purpose is to provide an opportunity for persons with physical disabilities to connect and learn from each other, socialize, experience adapted recreation and explore community resources.
  3. To Help clients rebuild their homes, ensure accessible transportation, and to create a more barrier free access to their community.
